The domesticated cat from the Abyssinian breed, called the "Bast" cat, is characterized by the density and length of its fur. It is very friendly and does not show any aggressiveness.

The Abyssinian cat

The Abyssinian cat belongs to one of the domestic cat breeds with short hair. These cats are named after Abyssinia (currently Ethiopia) due to the common belief that this region might be the place of origin for this breed. The Abyssinian cat is visually distinguished by a unique, ticked coat with distinctive and varied colors.

The Persian cat

The Persian cat is a long-haired cat from the purebred long-haired cat breed. It belongs to the feline family. This breed is known for its various colors. The cat is of medium to large size, with a rounded body and a very short nose. This breed has been known since the late 19th century and was first modified by the English, and later primarily modified by the United States after World War II. The selection by breeders has allowed the development of a wide range of colors and has also led to the development of a controversial flat-faced appearance. Many varieties were derived and developed from the Persian cat breed, including the Himalayan cat. Persian cat breeding is characterized by periodic adjustments to the fur, eyes, and ears.

The Siamese cat

The Siamese cat has Asian origins and was presented by the King of Siam to Mr. Owen Gould, the English consul, in 1880. It officially appeared in Crystal Palace in London and gained great success. It later arrived in America in 1890. Initially, it did not have its current appearance; it had a rounder head and a stockier body. Breeders then intervened in its breeding to enhance immunity through selective mating. This resulted in the current Siamese breed, characterized by a short, luxurious coat with a color pattern where the mask, ears, legs, paws, tail, and eyes are blue. Kittens are born with a light white color, which deepens into four colors: seal, blue, chocolate, and lilac. Seal is the most common color, with a dark gray face, snowy white body, and chocolate-colored points. Lilac is a rare color, with a snowy white body and a dark grayish-pink hue. The claws and nose tips are also in corresponding colors.

The Manx cat

The Manx cat is a tailless cat with a sleek coat, short fur resembling that of a rabbit. It has a dense undercoat, and the hind legs are longer than the front ones, giving it a rabbit-like hop when it walks. The nose is long, and the ears are broad and rounded, with round eyes that match the coat color. The cat is intelligent and trainable.

The Himalayan cat

The Himalayan cat is a result of mating a Persian cat with a Siamese cat. However, after several generations, attempts to mate a Persian with a Siamese result in highly undesirable breeds. The Himalayan breed is a rare variation of the Persian, and if Himalayans are bred together, they produce either a seal face or a chocolate face. The colors of Himalayans include Orange, where the darker parts are orange, Cream, and the nose, ears, paws, and tail are a darker shade similar to Siamese. Chocolate Himalayans have dark chocolate-colored parts and a light brown body. The Blue Himalayan is one of the most expensive and rare types, with a light blue-gray body and darker points. When mating a Himalayan with a Persian, it may produce a Half-Persian (Himalayan) with a beautiful appearance that combines features from both breeds. These cats are known for their sweet temperament, intelligence, and highly sociable nature. Due to their Siamese ancestry, they tend to be more active than Persian cats.

The Balinese cat

The Balinese cat (named after the traditional Balinese dance) originated in America in 1950. It was born from a Siamese mother but differs in that it has long, silky fur that is thick on the upper body and short on the lower body. It shares the same facial mask as the Siamese. The Balinese cat has a slender body with good muscle tone, graceful movements, longer hind legs than front legs, a proportionate head, a long nose, almond-shaped blue eyes, a long tail, and denser fur than the Siamese. It is a friendly and intelligent cat with a voice and tones similar to the Siamese.
