Rudyard Kipling's classic novella follows two audacious British adventurers in colonial India, Daniel Dravot and Peachey Carnehan. Dissatisfied with their lives, they embark on a perilous journey to the remote region of Kafiristan with a bold plan: to become kings. Using their military knowledge and Masonic rituals, they successfully deceive the local populace into believing they are gods. However, their ambition, greed, and human failings ultimately lead to a spectacular and tragic downfall, offering a sharp critique of imperialism and human hubris.
